Tony Lopresti has helmed productions throughout North America, Europe, and Africa. He currently serves as Movement Director for NYC’s Academy of Sacred Drama and has served as Mime Director for Italy’s Festival Musica sull’Acqua since 2009. Additional roles include Executive Director of New York Pantomime Theatre for many years and Guest Teaching Artist (Movement for Actors) at the National Theatre Institute / Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and Fordham University Lincoln Center Theatre Program.

SELECTED PUBLICATIONS

Holding degrees in Psychology and Theatre, Tony started his writing career in college, further developing his voice as a Conscientious Objector of the Vietnam War.

In addition to writing and producing media for politics, advertising, radio, television, and now podcasting, Tony’s storytelling techniques were developed with decades as an actor and mime, and 22 years as Director of Video Production for the NYPD.

Tony is a multilingual world traveler, and his works are known for being both humorous and profound.

Tony’s performance career has carried him from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, to appearances on Saturday Night Live and Saved by the Bell.

Trained at Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg Institute, HB Studio, as well as specialty mime technique with Moni & Mina Yakim, Tony is known as the best living classical mime in the world.

At home with dialogue or silent movement, he understands the real truth is in what’s not said.
